FCM u17s beat Minerva, BBFS in YPL

FC Mangalore pulled off back-to-back wins in the ongoing Karnataka State Football Association’s Youth Premier League 2024. A total of 14 teams feature in the top-tier competition, each of whom will play the other teams on a single-leg basis.

FC Mangalore were the underdogs against Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) who had registered a win in the previous round. A great free-kick routine allowed Zayed to open the scoring for FC Mangalore early in the first half. While BBFS equalised almost immediately, the winner came let in the second half courtesy of a well-placed shot by super-sub Jaffer in the 83rd minute.

In the second fixture, a goal in each half – one from Adnan off a corner – followed by a well-taken individual effort by Nabeel in the second half – handed all three points to FC Mangalore.

The team is now well placed in the top half of the table with six points (2 wins and 1 loss from three matches).
