Two FC Mangalore Players in Karnataka Santosh Trophy Squad

After the initial announcement by the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) that Coach Biby Thomas will lead the State team for the upcoming Senior National Championship for Santosh Trophy, it has now been officially announced that two FC Mangalore players have made it to the final squad following a rigorous selection camp over the past month that saw hundreds of players across the state take part.

Bavu Nishad TP and Mohammed Riyas PT, both of whom are upcoming youngsters who were part of the FC Mangalore u-18 Hero Youth League and Yenepoya PU College teams have now been selected for the Senior level for the first time.

Former FC Mangalore and Yeneopoya alumni Shehin Mohammed will be the team Physiotherapist.

Leading the team as Captain will be M Sunil Kumar from Bangalore, a seasoned professional. The team has an added home field advantage of playing the South Zone Qualifiers in the Bangalore Football Stadium itself.

Karnataka are in Group A, alongside Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
