Nationwide Scouting brings new talents to Mangalore
Following a journey traversing the entire span of the nation, the efforts of the FC Mangalore Scouting Team comprising of Biby Thomas, Sujith KV and Mohammed Hasil has resulted in the scouting of more than thirty talented footballers in the youth age groups from Kerala all the way up to Manipur.
The entire process, planned over a period of months in the summer of 2020, resulted in the identification of rural hotbeds in the North East of India from where the majority of the players were scouted.
“We spent considerable time and effort to scout in places which are generally ignored by traditional club scouts – rather than stay in the comfort of the major towns, we went into the hill districts and remote areas which has never witnessed any national level club or academy trials in the past and that is what enabled us to identify some really good talents from the region.” said Biby Thomas, Technical Director and Head of Scouting for FC Mangalore.

“The next stage is to get the lads acclimatised and familiarised with the club and the local region. It is important that they feel at home, considering that they are thousands of kilometres away in an unfamiliar land with its own customs, practices and language. The first few weeks will be crucial to facilitate that transition and we are fully committed to it”
Training is set to to commence shortly following the completion of the medical formalities
